Pendley, MA, CAE, APR, President of the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Healthcare Quality Strategies, Inc., (HQSI), the nonprofit Medicare quality improvement organization (QIO) for New Jersey. East Brunswick-based HQSI is under contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. HQSI also provides independent utilization management, quality improvement, and data validation services to other organizations. By partnering with healthcare providers, organizations, communities, and consumers, HQSI works to make healthcare safer, more efficient, more effective, and more accessible. “Don is one of the leading advocates for hospice and palliative care,” said Alexander E. Rodi, Sr., DO, the Chairman of the HQSI Board of Trustees. “He has more than 35 years of professional experience in the nonprofit/association field and extensive experience in advocacy, public relations, and coalition building – skills directly related to HQSI’s mission of accelerating heathcare quality improvement.” A resident of Glen Ridge, New Jersey, Mr. Pendley has previously served as a member on the Boards of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, Community Health Charities of New Jersey, the Caring Coalition of Metropolitan New York, and the Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives.
